Hills in SF

More hills ... It's hard to tell, but the camera and myself are looking parallel to the ground under my feet. However, if I take another step, then we'd be going down at a 45 degree angle.

Nope, I'm not making it up.

So, does anyone know where this photo was taken?

Looks like someplace on Potrero Hill to me. But I'm still scratching my head over the math problem...
There's some 90 degree parking outside San Francisco Art Institute -- Chestnut is really steep right there.

Filbert Street, just west of Hyde?

Good guesses. Just when you think there is no steeper hill than the one you're on, oops... there is another even harder to climb right around the corner ;)

Potrero is a good guess.
