What's New at Apple ? Que se passe-t-il chez Apple?

Apple's Steve Jobs unveiled its new baby at MacWorld at the Moscone Center in San Francisco today: I give you .... (drum rolls) ... the iPhone! What, you couldn't make it in to watch in person? No problem. The San Francisco Chronicle has made available for all to watch a 20-minute video showing you the highlights of the conference.

Steve Jobs showed up dressed very casually in jeans, and explained to a cheerful audience the all-in one internet-e-mail / video-iPod / cell phone functions of the new device. The sleek-looking gadget has a "high-resolution" 3.5 inch screen, which functions almost entirely by touch. The iPhone will retail for $499 (for the 4 GB capacity) and $599 (for the 8 GB) when it becomes available, in June 2007. It will require a 2-year contract with the phone company Cingular. For further details, please see the Chronicle's article or the numerous techie sites and blogs, a few of which are listed below.

Steve Jobs unveils iPhone

My thoughts? I like it, but I find it a little pricy for what it is, and I don't like the idea of signing a 2 year contract with any cellular phone company, Cingular or any other one. You know what? I think I'll wait patiently for the 3rd or 4th generation. ;)

I went to the Whole Foods at 4th & Harrison for lunch yesterday. As I drove by Moscone I kept thinking "Ooh, look at all the nerds!"

But it's cool... I like nerds!

Buzz? I didn't know you liked geeks.

Yeah Buzzgirl, had we known...

This is cool Tomate. I haven't heard much about the iPhone here (haven't paid attention either), but now I have all I need to figure it out on your blog. I thought I'd buy one for you and Susan so that you could see each other when you chat on pdp. (LOL) But...I agree, I hate the 2 yr. prison sentence with one carrier.

Bises...
