One Week Later - Une Semaine Plus Tard (Fr/En)

Bonjour. Si je n'ai pas poste depuis une semaine c'est que je n'avais rien de mieux a dire depuis la Gay Pride Parade de Dimanche dernier. (Attention, ce site inclus pres de 4000 photos qui vous passent devant les yeux a raison de une toutes les 5 secondes, alors installez vous bien.)


Je suis restee sur mon nuage arc-en-ciel quelques temps (non, Sandy, je ne suis pas "amoureuse", c'est juste que j'avais passe une si bonne journee a San Francisco ce jour la ...) La gentillesse de certains des mecs qui nous ont laisse prendre photo apres photo sans s'impatienter, par example, et les autres, tous les autres qui sont venus aider a organiser la journee et qui ont apporte avec eux leur bonne humeur et leur generosite, eh bien tout ca m'a beaucoup touchee et je voulais garder un peu l'impression avec moi sans trop penser a autre chose.

Pourtant d'autres choses sont arrivees pendant la semaine...

"Petite Fleur" (une jeune collegue du travail) nous a quitte Jeudi. Elle s'en va au Japon le mois prochain, pour enseigner l'Anglais, pendant un an. Petite Fleur me rappelle enormement le personnage du film Spirited Away . Elle est mignonne, gentille, et avec sa bonne humeur et son attitude positive, elle sait faire ressortir le bon cote des gens. J'ai vu bien des gens aller et venir dans cette boite, mais elle, elle va etre difficile a remplacer. Bien sur on est content pour elle, mais ca fait quand meme mal au coeur de la voir partir. Petite Fleur meriterait bien un post entier, mais vous ne perdez rien pour attendre.

Le lendemain de son depart, mon (2eme) iPod a fait des siennes et j'ai du passer plusieurs heures chez Apple deux jours de suite (longue histoire tordue)... Je ne sais pas trop ce qui lui a pris a mon iPod mais il va beaucoup mieux maintenant apres avoir ete completement reformatte. La methode "on efface tout et on recommence" est toujours aussi efficace, a ce que je vois. En plus, Apple m'a meme mis quelques tunes supplementaires, bon, faut pas se plaindre, meme si ce sont des tunes temporaires que je perdrai immediatement des que je rebrancherai mon Pod sur mon PC... En attendant, j'ecoute des trucs que je ne connaissais que d'oreille mais pas de nom, par ex.: "R.E.M., Losing My Religion" (Voyez ici cet audio/video-clip super cool).

Le soir c'etait l'anniversaire de ma meilleure amie, Gargouille Bleue, et je me suis precipitee a Marin County pour aller celebrer avec elle. Malheureusement, j'avais oublie l'appareil photo. La aussi, il faudrait un post entier, mais ca viendra.

Hello. If I haven't updated my blog in a week, it's because I had nothing better to talk about since the Gay Pride Parade of last week. (A fair warning, here, this site includes almost 4000 photos - 1 every 5 seconds, so get comfortable.)


I was on a rainbow cloud for a while (no, Sandy, I'm not "in love", it's just that I had such a great day in San Francisco, last week ...) Some of these guys were so nice, letting us (tourists and others) take picture after picture without getting impatient... and all the other people that were there as well, volunteering, making sure that the event was running smoothly, and whose good-mood and generosity could clearly be felt ... I just wanted to keep that impression with me a few more days without thinking about much else.

Yet, it wasn't an event-free week.

"Little Flower" (a young colleague) left us last Thursday. She is going to Japan next month to teach English and will be there for a year. Little Flower reminds me a lot of that character in the movie Spirited Away . She's cute, nice, and brings the best out of people with her good mood and positive attitude. I have seen a lot of people come and go in this firm, but this one is going to be tough to replace. Of course, I'm happy for her, but it still breaks my heart to see her go. Little Flower deserves a whole post, really, but the time will come.

The following day, my (second) iPod started acting weird and I had to spend a few hours at Apple two days in a row (long story)... I don't really know what happened, but it feels a lot better now after having been completely reformatted. The "wipe everything out and start from scratch" method always seems to work. And Apple even put a few new tunes on my iPod, so I'm not complaining even though I know that they're temporary and the minute I sync my iPod with my PC, I'll lose them ... Meanwhile, I get to listen to songs I like but never knew the name of, such as R.E.M., Losing My Religion (see it and hear it here on this very cool streaming video-clip.

That evening, I drove to Marin County to celebrate my best friend, Blue Gargoyle's birthday. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my camera. She, too, deserves an entire post, but I'll get to it, eventually.
