Good Bye Paris / Au Revoir Paris

Because every good thing must end at some point (why is that?), so did my vacation, when the plane landed back safely at SFO International yesterday. But before it did, I managed to take a couple of pictures from above.

Parce que toute bonne chose doit finir eventuellement (pourquoi on dit ça?), mes vacances se sont terminées aussi quand l'avion atterit impeccablement à San Francisco International hier. Mais juste avant, j'ai réussi à prendre quelques photos de là haut.



On this picture below (double-click to enlarge), you can see the Golden Gate Bridge resting on the left side on the hills of Marin Headlands. On the right is, of course, San Francisco. You can see the Bay Bridge, too, with Treasure Island in the middle. You can see Alcatraz (small thing in the middle, you need a magnifying glass to see it, but it's there) and way in the back, a good portion of Alameda and Contra Costa counties. The green piece above Marin Headlands (on the left) is, I believe, a piece of Angel Island.

Sur la photo en dessous (cliquer dessus pour élargir), on peut voir le Golden Gate Bridge se reposant sur la gauche sur les collines de Marin Headlands. Sur sa droite, bien sur, une partie de San Francisco. On peut voir aussi le Bay Bridge avec Treasure Island au milieu. On voit aussi Alcatraz (petit truc au milieu, faut une loupe mais c'est la) et derriere tout au fond, on voit une grande partie des comptés d'Alameda et de Contra Costa. Le morceau vert au dessus de Marin Headlands est, je crois, un morceau d'Angel Island.



On this second picture, you can still see the Golden Gate Bridge, the Northern part of San Francisco and more of Marin and Contra Costa counties. The Richmond Bridge (also called San Rafael Bridge) is there but barely visible on this picture. Will try to do better next time! ;-)

Sur cette deuxieme photo, vous voyez toujours le Golden Gate Bridge, la partie Nord de San Francisco et un peu plus des comptés de Marin et Contra Costa. Le Richmond Bridge (qu'on appelle aussi le San Rafael Bridge) est bien là mais à peine visible sur cette photo. On essaiera de faire mieux la prochaine fois! ;-)



As promised, I did take a ton of pictures in Paris, but it will take me a few days to sort through them and Photoshop them half way presentable. I'll probably end up loading most of them up on a Yahoo or Flickr album available on request, unless you guys are interested in getting some editorial comments with the pictures, in which case, I'll blog about Paris, too. Let me know what you want.

Comme promis, j'ai pris plein de photos à Paris, mais cela me prendra bien quelques jours pour les organiser et les photoshoper à loisir. Je finirai sans doute par les mettre sur un album Internet Yahoo ou Flickr pret à envoyer à la demande, à moins que vous ayez envie d'entendre parler de Paris et de voir quelques commentaires avec les photos, et dans ce cas dites le moi et je ferai quelques billets sur le blog sur Paris aussi. Faites moi savoir si ça vous intéresse.

By the way, I want to remind the locals around here that next week-end will be the annual San Francisco LGBT Pride. There will be events during both days on Saturday and Sunday, June 24 and 25th, in San Francisco, and of course, the parade is on Sunday at 10:00 a.m., on Market St., as usual. Those of you who would rather stay home can watch it on TV on Channel 4 but you'll miss out on all the fun! Anyway, if I don't "see" you between now and then, have a fun and safe week-end, everybody.

Au fait, je voulais aussi rappeler aux gens du coin que le week-end prochain sera la San Francisco LGBT Pride annuelle. Il y aura des activités les 2 jours, le Samedi et Dimanche 24 and 25 Juin à San Francisco, et bien sûr, la parade aura lieu comme tous les ans le Dimanche à 10:00 du matin, sur Market St. Ceux d'entre vous qui préfèrent rester chez eux pouront voir ça à la télé sur KRON, Chaine No. 4, mais ce ne sera sans doute pas aussi festif de regarder ça de loin! En tout cas, si on ne se "voit" pas d'ici là, passez un bon week-end, restez cool et amusez-vous bien.
