San Francisco has balls / San Francisco a les boules

(Chrismas Season in San Francisco - Part 2)
(Noel à San Francisco / Part 2)

This post was originally written in follow-up of Eric's post (see "Christmas Dog" of December 5, 2005), and especially the comments to that post.

Do we have bigger balls? Xmas balls, that is. Every year, in San Francisco, they pull out this display in front of 101 California Street. These balls are approx. 8 feet high (each). I looked for documentation on them tonight, but haven't foud anything yet. I promise to go back there and take a much better picture during the day, hopefully with a few people walking by, so you can get a much better idea.

Another shot of these balls here.

It's really a big one.

Thanks for the great Xmas pictures of SF. I do have to visit sometime soon! My first two trips to the West Coast were this year, first to San Diego in April, and then to Seattle and Washington State in August. The third trip will definitely be San Francisco!

Great one Tomate. A relief you don't have all of the political comments from Eric's last post. How DOES that happen?!

Michael: it's not that kind of blog :-) Here it's pretty low key, relax.

Sardinette: c'est des tomates? Tout s'explique! Effectivement, ça explique l'attraction ;-)

Julie: I think I will post a little more during the holidays.

Thank you very much, everybody for the sweet comments. And try to stay warm and away from people with a cold, if you can!

See you very soon.
A bientot!

Thank you so much for posting the pictures of those big balls. Once again, you're trying to attract people who are looking for specific words in Google...

Oddly enough, I saw these recently - but gold and transparent - where was it?! arrrgh. I was at Philadelphia airport, or Logan, but I live in Paris: but I don't get out much and I really have the impression I saw them in close proximity to an airport - demands more research...
