Happy Birthday to my father! Joyeux Anniversaire Papa!

(Jacques Higelin)
"Before 50, we are young and beautiful. After, we are beautiful." (Jacques Higelin)

Because today's my father's birthday, I thought I'd post a little something straight from my childhood. We had a record we kept for just these occasions, maybe he he'll remember the words...

Bon Anniversaire,
Nos voeux les plus sinceres
Que ces quelques fleurs
Vous apportent le bonheur
Que l'annee entiere
Vous sois douce et legere
Et que l'an fini
Nous soyons tous reunis
Pour chanter en coeur
Bon anniversaire!

Happy Birthday
Our most sincere wishes
May these few flowers
Bring you much happiness
May the entire year
Be sweet and lighthearted
And at the end of the year
May we all be reunited
To sing together again
Happy birthday!

The flowers on the pictures above were photographed at the open market at my father's town, 60km North of Paris, while I was there last June.

* * * * *

Also, since I'm here, this is a quick note to let everybody know that I have received your emails and I will write back as soon as I can. I am completely swamped lately and even the cool "new" computer I brought home a few weeks ago is still sitting in a corner, unplugged...

Anyway, we'll talk to you you all very soon, hopefully.

A très bientot, j'espère!

I am so glad I decided to check out your blogspace. I love SF though I've only been there 3 times. The photos are terrific and I have fun trying to remember if I have been to some of the places photographed. I remember Giradelli and the huge Hot Fudge sundae I ate. I also remember a huge columned building on top of a hill. Magnifique!
