What's new with you? Quoi de neuf chez vous?

Not much here. Last week I went to the doctor to have them look at my ankle since it's been bothering me for so long ... long story short ... they put it in a cast! As you can see, though, either it was a Christmas left over, or they knew I was coming because the only color they had left is ... tomato red! I had seen color-casts before but never close up. They're really kind of cool and because they're made of fiberglass, they're much lighter than actual plaster. I don't actually recommend it but if you absolutely have to have a cast, then go with that one instead. One draw back, though, is that people won't be able to write on it ...

It's really not as bad as it looks, in fact, it looks like it's helping. However, it's kind of a pain to get around, and small things we tend to take for granted like trying to get around in public transportation, taking a shower, or taking the garbage out down 2 flights of stairs (without elevator, of course), become much more time-consuming and complicated tasks... Let's just say it, this thing is kind of a pain in the ass.

Ralentir vous laisse voir des trucs sympas/Slowing down allows you to smell the flowers

On the plus side, having to slow down is really not that bad once you get used to it. I could even say it's kind of relaxing. Still, I'll be glad when they take this thing out!

Ceci dit, ça me fera bien plaisir quand on enlevera ce truc!

PS. By the way, as you can probably see on one of the pictures, I have cable service again. Don't know for how long, but right now it works. The timing couldn't be better! :-)

My daughter got a pink one a few years back when she was six! You could write on hers so it must have been colored plaster.

I hope it heals quickly for you.

Michel: (by the way, I just put 2 and 2 together and figured out that your blog is the Spirit of Paris) Good one, indeed!

Anyway, I don't know for sure how I broke it. It's one of these things (shrug)

Pumpkin Pie:

I'm an adult and I can't wait for the thing to be off, so I can't even imagine what it must be like to have to endure something like this when you're 6 Y old! I'm glad the cast was pink, but poor thing!!!

Sorry about your ankle! What a drag. Thanks for your kind comments last week.

About my blogger pic: I had breast reduction surgery in April of 2003. I took the photo to illustrate to my friends my displeasure at the results (I'm still a "D" cup!) When I saw the picture I just laughed. I thought that if anyone (male) ran into me on the street, they'd recognize me instantly - because that's where they're looking!
